FIRST SPACESHIP ON VENUS (1960) | Full Movie | Space Sci-Fi Classic (FilmIsNow)

A mysterious magnetic spool found during a construction project is discovered to have originated from Venus. A rocket expedition to Venus is launched to discover the origin of the spool and the race that created it.

Starring: YƓko Tani, Oldrich Lukes, Ignacy Machowski, Julius Ongewe, Mikhail N. Postnikov, Kurt Rackelmann... Directed by: Kurt Maetzig

Full film, with amazing designs and special effects for 1960. A lot of other Sci Fi films could have borrowed elements from this, including Star Wars (soundtrack elements, the landspeeders), and the film Alien (abseiling into the alien vessel's hold) imho. I skipped through a lot of the first part up until the landing on Venus. It helps to read the Wiki page covering the plot when you skip parts of the start. The original East German/Polish title is The Silent Star, but I prefer The First Space Ship on Venus, and the movie poster that goes with it. The voice over in the beginning explains a lot. I really like their exploration vehicles, except you don't see the flying one actually flying. The shots that feature the main space ship in the background came out great too. The planet scenes overall are pretty good. They did an amazing job. The dialog and script tho, is not very tight!
